PLEASE NOTE: Under the Canadian Uniform Standards of Professional Practice (CUSPAP) , CRA members must use that designation in connection with the appraisal, review or consulting on individual undeveloped residential dwelling sites and of dwellings containing not more than four (4) self-contained family housing units. Where a CRA Member signs a report beyond their scope of work, it must be co-signed by an AACI.
Under CUSPAP, prior to accepting an assignment or entering into an agreement to perform any assignment, an appraiser must have the knowledge and experience to complete the assignment competently, alternatively, take all steps necessary or appropriate to complete the assignment competently.

Managing Partner (Calgary) of Bourgeois Brooke Chin Associates, Terry has over 45 years of real estate valuation experience. He graduated from the University of Calgary in 1977 with a BSc in Psychology. He began his career with CMHC in early 1978 and has been a commercial fee appraiser since 1979, completing commercial appraisal assignments in Alberta, British Columbia, Saskatchewan and Manitoba. A member of the Appraisal Institute of Canada (AIC) since 1978, Terry has volunteer experience as a Director of AIC-Alberta since 2012, Vice President & Treasurer from 2013 to 2017 and President (2019 to 2021). He has been an AIC Professional Competency Interviewer (PCI) since 2011 and currently serves on the Advocacy Committee and is Chair of the Investigations Sub-Committee. He previously served on the Research & Development Committee and the Standards Sub-Committee. In November 2016 he was awarded an MSc in Real Estate Investment and Finance from Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh, Scotland. In June 2017 the Appraisal Institute of Canada awarded Terry a President's Citation for Outstanding Volunteer Service.
