Protecting your privacy and the confidentiality of your information — over the Internet, on the telephone, or through our offices — has always been fundamental to the way we do business at the Appraisal Institute of Canada – Alberta (AIC – AB). We have created this privacy statement in order to demonstrate our firm commitment to the privacy of our members and potential site visitors.

The AIC –AB respects the privacy of its Internet users and will protect that privacy as vigorously as possible.

The AIC – AB does not collect information that personally identifies individuals except when individuals provide such specific information on a voluntary basis. There may be occasions where specific personal information is requested before an individual can enter certain sections of the site. For example, membership registration and requests for feedback.

In all such cases, the AIC – AB will collect only information that is voluntarily provided by the user and undertakes that such information will be kept strictly confidential. Individual information provided to the AIC – AB to gain access to any feature of the site will not be sold or made available to a third party outside of the Appraisal Institute of Canada and its Affiliates and Chapters.

The AIC – AB does reserve the right, however, to perform statistical analyses of user behaviour and characteristics, in order to measure interest in and use of the various sections of its sites so as to improve design and navigation and to gather marketing information. Only aggregated data from these analyses, not individual data, will be used for this purpose.

Through the site, you may enter domains that are beyond the boundaries of the AIC – AB and, once there, the AIC – AB is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of these web sites.
