Completion of a degree is a requirement to obtain an AIC designation. Individuals who do not currently hold a degree may advance through the AIC curriculum requirements while continuing to pursue their degree.

If you have less than Two Years of Post-Secondary education, Apply to become a Student Member of AIC

If you are enrolled as a post-secondary student in an accredited college, CÉGEP or university and have less than two years of post-secondary education, you can apply to become a Student Member with your Provincial Association.  Just click on the “Become a Designated Member” on your  Provincial Association website. Individuals who do not currently hold a degree may advance through the AIC curriculum requirements while continuing to pursue their degree. If you have at least two years of post-secondary education, Apply to Become a Candidate Member of AIC

If you have at least two years of  post-secondary education from an accredited college, CÉGEP or university, you can begin your path to designation by:

Then, you are ready to contact your Provincial Association to apply to become a Candidate Member.

Within the first 12 months of becoming a Candidate Member, you will also be required to successfully complete the mandatory  New Candidate Professional Practice Seminar. You may choose one of the two available formats:

  1. Distance/self-directed version (including written exam) or
  2. New Candidate classroom session (including a written exam)

 

Once you are a Candidate Member, you are ready to move on to Step 2: Education & Experience.
