CBRE - SENIOR ASSOCIATE / ASSOCIATE VICE PRESIDENT - EDMONTON

JOB SUMMARY

Independently prepares market value appraisals on wide variety of commercial and/or multi- family real estate assets with review by Director, Managing or Director, Sr. Managing Director (if required). May mentor trainees and/or develop new client relationships.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Prepares appraisal reports by describing physical and economic property characteristics, appraisal procedures used, and information analyzed; disclosing extraordinary assumptions, and hypothetical and limiting conditions; presenting supportive reasoning. Maintains organization’s reputation by conforming to the Canadian Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (CUSPAP); keeping information confidential. Contributes to overall organizational goals by adding to database, potentially specializing in niche real estate markets, mentoring trainees, and engaging in client development.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Coordinates with co-workers within a work unit and/or project team. Leads projects and supervises assignments of lower level employees.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE 

Bachelor’s Degree from four-year university required. A minimum of (3) years commercial appraisal experience is required.   

CERTIFICATES and/or LICENSES 

Must be licensed in province of Alberta and possess or be pursuing the AACI designation of the Appraisal Institute of Canada.   

COMMUNICATION SKILLS 

Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret business documents. Ability to respond effectively to sensitive issues. Ability to write reports using distinctive style. 

FINANCIAL KNOWLEDGE 

Requires above-average knowledge of financial real estate terms and principles. Intermediate to advanced understanding of approaches to value of real estate assets. 

REASONING ABILITY 

Ability to solve intermediate to advanced problems and deal with a variety of often complex situations. Draws upon the analysis of others and makes recommendations.
