WHO SHOULD USE THE CANDIDATE Co-SignING REGISTRY LOOK UP TOOL?
Individuals and companies who have a co-signed* appraisal report can search the Candidate Co-signing Registry to ensure that the signing AIC Candidate is/was registered with the co-signing Designated Member as at the effective date of the report was signed. * Note: This is only a registry of AIC candidates and their AIC-designated co-signer. Registration is not required for appraisal reports signed by a CRA (Canadian Residential Appraiser) and co-signed by an AACI (Accredited Appraiser Canadian Institute).
FINDING A CANDIDATE AND THEIR DESIGNATED CO-SIGNER
- Searching the registry is by the last names of the AIC Designated Member and AIC Candidate Member as they would appear in the report.
- The search results will display all of the names that match those entered.
- The names listed in the left column are AIC Designated Members, while those in the right column are AIC Candidates who would have required an AIC co-signer at time of candidacy. Selecting the appropriate name from each column and then selecting the “show records” button will show the registry status between the two selected members and the time period of the registration.
WHAT IF THERE IS NO MATCHING REGISTRATION?
If a search results in a “no match” between the AIC Candidate Member and AIC Designated Member for the period in which the report was signed, please contact the appraiser to ensure that they have complied with the Institute’s policies and standards of professional appraisal practice.
