SI-05 Real Estate Appraisal Advisor (SI0010)
Providing appraisal reports, advice and expert opinion concerning tangible property including the most complex real estate.
Participating in preparing and evaluating completed appraisals in order to maintain the required work standards and to ensure that professional appraisal principles, techniques and approaches are applied.
Providing service through promoting effective communication internally with staff and management and externally with taxpayers and/or representatives.
Act as an expert witness in Court and provide consultative services to the Tax Services Offices.
A pool of eligible candidates will be created from this staffing process.
Please note that this is an inventory status process. This means that the screening, assessment, and appointment of candidates will occur on a periodic basis as needed.
The salary range is from $81,114 to $97,636.

Proof of Canadian citizenship will be required at the assessment stage.
Please note that this process will be used to staff positions in Victoria, BC only. As a result, if you are appointed from this process we will expect you to relocate to this location. If you are a candidate from the general public, you will have to pay any expenses related to relocation as well as any travel for assessments.
Qualified veterans and members of the Canadian Armed Forces who are appointed are not entitled to relocation costs from the CRA. They may, however, be entitled to a final relocation from the Department of National Defence.

Essential Staffing Requirements
To be eligible, you’ll need to meet the following requirements:
Eligibility for a designation as an Accredited Appraiser of the Canadian Institute (AACI) or EA designation from the Ordre des évaluateurs Agrees du Quebec (O.E.A.Q).
Please upload into the Education section of your Candidate Profile proof of your education credentials (e.g. copies of designations/transcripts, diplomas/degrees) demonstrating that you meet the essential education requirement for the position being staffed. Candidates with foreign education credentials must have their education confirmed by a recognized credential assessment service. Any applicable fees are the responsibility of the candidate. Experience in complex commercial and residential appraisals and experience preparing appraisal reports of all types of property, in accordance with the Canadian Uniform Standards of Appraisal Practice (CUSPAP).
A minimum of 12 months real estate appraisal experience within the past 5 years is required.
Preference may be given to individuals with more experience.

Locally developed assessment:
The following qualifications WILL be assessed using locally developed assessment tools. Assessment methods through locally developed tools may include a written exam, a written submission, an interview and/or reference checks. Candidates must achieve the required pass marks shown.
• Knowledge and application of real estate appraising – pass mark 70%
• Ability to prepare business correspondence in English – pass mark 70%
• Ability to effectively communicate verbally in English – pass mark 70%
Assessments may be conducted prior to the closing date of the poster.
Throughout the staffing process, it is your responsibility to make yourself available for all testing and interview dates for which you are invited. If you fail to attend any of the scheduled testing or interview sessions, you will be deemed to be no longer interested in this staffing process and as a result, you will not be considered further.
Any expenses incurred by candidates from the general public in connection with this staffing process, will be borne by the candidate themselves.
Any asset staffing requirements indicated below may be applied/assessed at a later date and may be used for appointment.
