Mark Poechman, B. Mgmt., AACI, P. App., is an accredited appraiser within the Appraisal Institute of Canada and is an active volunteer on the AIC Edmonton Member Liaison Committee who promotes the Appraisal Institute of Canada in Edmonton and assists members through the provision of local events. Mark is also the Vice President & Secretary/Treasurer for the provincial association.
Mark’s initial interest in Real Estate was sparked while attending Lethbridge Community College and working as a Realtor for a local brokerage. Mark continued working as a Realtor throughout his time in University and was a member of both the Edmonton and Lethbridge Real Estate Boards. Professionally, Mark has worked in various capacities of the Valuation profession. As a fee appraiser with Bourgeois & Company, Mark completed full narrative appraisal assignments on a range of IC&I property types while working towards an AACI, P. App., designation.
In 2013 Mark relocated to the Valuations department of Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC), where he completed reviews of appraisals on behalf of the Crown, and estimates of value for internal use. Mark is currently employed as a Portfolio Analyst with PWGSC, where he ensures the Best Value to Canadians is achieved when the Crown undertakes projects involving real property.
