PLEASE NOTE: Under the Canadian Uniform Standards of Professional Practice (CUSPAP) , CRA members must use that designation in connection with the appraisal, review or consulting on individual undeveloped residential dwelling sites and of dwellings containing not more than four (4) self-contained family housing units.  Where a CRA Member signs a report beyond their scope of work, it must be co-signed by an AACI.

Under CUSPAP, prior to accepting an assignment or entering into an agreement to perform any assignment, an appraiser must have the knowledge and experience to complete the assignment competently, alternatively, take all steps necessary or appropriate to complete the assignment competently.

Bruce Turner is president of Heuristic Consulting Associates, which provides property assessment, policy, management consulting and technical advisory services. Prior to consulting, Bruce enjoyed a career with BC Assessment that included a full cross-section of executive management and technical roles. Bruce works with the University of British Columbia (UBC) in developing senior level course materials for their Bachelor of Business in Real Estate program. He has also worked with UBC to design, develop and deliver customized training to federal government managers & real estate professionals on innovative problem solving & decision making. Bruce is a member of: • BC’s Property Assessment Appeal Board • Appraisal Institute of Canada • Comox Valley Economic Development Society (Director) • Real Estate Foundation of BC [Governor] International Association of Assessing Officers (member) Real Estate Council of BC 2008 – 2014 (Public Member). Bruce holds his Master of Business Administration from Royal Roads University.
