PLEASE NOTE: Under the Canadian Uniform Standards of Professional Practice (CUSPAP) , CRA members must use that designation in connection with the appraisal, review or consulting on individual undeveloped residential dwelling sites and of dwellings containing not more than four (4) self-contained family housing units.  Where a CRA Member signs a report beyond their scope of work, it must be co-signed by an AACI.

Under CUSPAP, prior to accepting an assignment or entering into an agreement to perform any assignment, an appraiser must have the knowledge and experience to complete the assignment competently, alternatively, take all steps necessary or appropriate to complete the assignment competently.

Real Estate valuation professional with experience in the real estate valuation and advisory services industry extending back to 1991. Has practiced as a generalist for most of career, gaining diverse experience and expertise in valuation, analysis and feasibility functions associated with all property types. Experience includes valuation and advisory services for office, retail, industrial, multi-residential, land development and diverse special purpose properties including marine infrastructure, large-scale industrial and manufacturing, seniors accommodation, and medium to large-scale hotel properties, among others. Extensive expropriation and right-of-way related experience spanning two decades and several major highway routes. Has qualified and testified as an expert witness on commercial real estate issues before the Supreme Court of Newfoundland and the Tax Court of Canada, as well as before various other boards and tribunals. Proven tax appeal results with significant reductions realized for most properties contested, including several high-profile cases. The favourable decision associated with one such assessment appeal is recognized nationally as a precedent setting case vis-à-vis ‘highest and best use’. Extensive income and expense modeling experience, including experience with Argus financial software, business modeling, and feasibility analysis associated with the hotel sector and seniors accommodation sector. Leadership roles within the valuation profession include multi-year participation on the Appraisal Institute of Canada’s National Board of Directors (2013-2016), and as co-chair of the Institute’s Marketing & Communications Committee. 2016 President of the Newfoundland & Labrador Association of the Appraisal Institute of Canada, as well as former president for 2004. Glen currently sits on the AIC’s national peer review committee. Community leadership and volunteer roles include former membership on Downtown Development Commission (DDC) Board of Directors (2008-2010), and formerly as member of the City of St. John's Heritage Advisory Committee (2008-2010). Community volunteer work has included board membership on the Bannerman Park Foundation, as english language coach for the Association for New Canadians, among others. Fluent in French and can provide service in both official languages.
