Position Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Property Tax Consultant to support our Tax Managers and Directors in identifying tax savings opportunities for our clients. This role involves reviewing commercial property assessments, preparing valuation reports, and representing clients in assessment review board hearings. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and communication skills, a collaborative mindset, and a passion for delivering exceptional client service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the assessment review process, including representing clients during appeals and hearings.
  • Prepare valuation reports and analyses to support our position with local taxing authorities.
  • Draft client communications including Reports of Findings and status updates.
  • Conduct on-site inspections of client properties.
  • Collaborate with business development teams to scope and develop tailored solutions for new and prospective clients.
  • Research and maintain accurate records in the review management system, including assessment data and jurisdictional tax information.
  • Assist with production and invoicing processes.
  • Monitor and track jurisdictional deadlines for filings, audits, and appeals.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, local tax legislation, and relevant court cases.
  • Work independently on smaller matters and collaboratively on complex cases under the guidance of senior team members.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Finance, Economics, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience in property tax or appraisal is preferred.
  • Candidates with P.App, AACI or actively pursuing AACI or AMAA designations are preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational, research, and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
