Mission Statement
Appraisal Institute of Canada – British Columbia (AIC – BC) responds to the rapidly changing needs of clients, employers and society by representing, promoting and supporting our members as leaders in the counseling, analysis and evaluation of real property.
Member Services
AIC – BC represents approximately 1,000 members of the Appraisal Institute of Canada (AIC) located in nine Chapters throughout British Columbia and the Yukon.
Services to AIC – BC members are provided by both their Provincial (AIC – BC) and National (AIC) Associations. An Affiliation Agreement between AIC – BC and AIC sets out the roles and responsibilities of each of these affiliated organizations [pdf] to the service of their common membership, as well as the public.
AIC – BC Services and Resources
The member section, for designated, Candidate and student members of AIC – BC, is a library of documents for members, including our current constitution and bylaws, current and archived newsletters, links to other industry web pages.
AIC – BC is also responsible for:
- Provincial and Chapter meetings, activities, publications and events;
- Processing applications from individuals in British Columbia and the Yukon who wish to join the Institute.
- Arranging designation interviews (dates, locations, particulars), processing member reinstatement, retirement, and resignations.

The Events section provides information and registration details for upcoming conferences, seminars and events of the AIC – BC and our affiliated organizations and News & Research includes current postings of timely industry news, publications and research.
The national office of the Institute offers further resources to assist the public in understanding the valuation process and the services our members provide in a Client Resource Centre.
