Deadlines for exemption for Degree Requirement
Members who joined prior to or on December 31, 1997 are exempt from the degree requirement for either the CRA or AACI designation providing they remain members in good standing and complete all other requirements for designation, other than the final exam(s) on or before December 31, 2017. Similarly, members who joined the Institute prior to or on December 31, 2005 are exempt from the degree requirement for the CRA designation providing they remain members in good standing and complete all other requirements for designation, other than the final exam(s) on or before December 31, 2017.
CRA's in good standing who joined or reinstated prior to Jan 1 1998 and who have remained members in good standing since that time remain grandfathered from the AACI degree requirement until 2018, provided they remain CRA's in good standing. The grandfather provision also extends to those retired members in good standing who choose to return to active candidate or CRA status.
