Canadian Residential Appraiser (CRA) Designation
In addition to your university degree...

  • Seminar on the Canadian Uniform Standards of Appraisal Practice (two day)
  • We Value Canada Introductory Workshop (online)
  • Communication/Business Writing Course*
  • BUSI 100 - Micro Foundations of Real Estate Economics
  • BUSI 101 - Capital Markets and Real Estate
  • BUSI 111 - BC Real Property Law and Real Estate Ethics or BUSI 112 - Canadian Real Property Law and Real Estate Ethics
  • BUSI 330 - Foundations of Real Estate Appraisal
  • BUSI 344 - Statistical and Computer Applications in Valuation
  • BUSI 400 - Residential Property Analysis
  • BUSI 443 - Foundations of Real Property Assessment and Mass Appraisal
  • AIC 399/BUSI 398 - Single-Family Guided Case Study or approved equivalent**
  • Minimum one year in the Applied Experience Program
  • Successful completion of the Designation Examination (written and oral)

* Students who have completed an undergraduate degree (120 Credits - 4 years) at an English- or French-speaking university, or the BUSI 497/499 Guided Case Study- or who have completed a university credit English course receive an exemption from the Communication/Business Report Writing Course.

** The AIC 399 requirement may be waived with the completion of BUSI 444, with a minimum 70% grade on the case study examination plus a minimum 50% grade on each section of the exam.

NOTE:  The last opportunity for students to register in AIC 399 is in the Winter Term 1, 2012 (September - December, 2012). AIC 399 will not be offered beyond this semester. Students wishing to satisfy the AIC 399 Single-Family Guided Case Study requirement beyond September 2012 will be required to enroll in BUSI 398.
