Job Title: Residential Real Estate Appraiser

Location: Lethbridge, Alberta (with travel around southwestern Alberta)

Job Type: Permanent, Full Time, On-site in Lethbridge

Remuneration: $50,000 – $100,000 (commission-based)

Our team of experienced appraisers provides accurate and reliable valuations for a wide range of properties, from single-family homes and multi-unit residential buildings to large commercial and industrial complexes, as well as institutional buildings like schools and churches. We are currently seeking a knowledgeable and skilled Residential Appraiser to join our team.

Job Description: As a Residential Appraiser at Reliance Appraisals, you will play a crucial role in valuing residential property within southwestern Alberta, ranging from the BC border east to Bow Island and from the US border north to Nanton. Your primary responsibilities will include conducting real estate appraisals using various approaches, such as the Direct Comparison, Income, and Cost Approaches.


·         Completed CRA, P. App. designation

·         Specialization in residential appraisals preferred

·         Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in real estate appraisals

·         Excellent communication and time management skills

·         Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

·         Experience with CRAL – Report Pro software is considered an asset


·         Conduct thorough and accurate real estate appraisals for residential properties, utilizing the Direct Comparison, Income, and Cost Approaches to value

·         Prepare form appraisal reports for single and multi-family homes, vacant residential land, and small acreages

·         Collaborate with a team of appraisers and communicate with other departments and stakeholders within the organization

·         Stay updated on market trends, industry changes, and attend continuing education courses as required

·         Conduct site visits and field inspections across Southwestern Alberta


·         Demonstrated expertise in appraising residential properties

·         Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team

·         Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

·         Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle, as well as a willingness to travel within Southwestern Alberta

·         Membership in good standing the AIC (Appraisal Institute of Canada)
