About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Agricultural Appraiser to join our team, working out of our St. Albert office. The ideal candidate will either be a current member or actively pursuing membership with the Appraisal Institute of Canada (AIC). This role involves conducting professional valuations of agricultural properties, including farmland, hobby farms, and acreages, in compliance with AIC standards and industry best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive appraisals of agricultural properties across Alberta.
- Collect and analyze data on land use, soil quality, crop production, and market trends.
- Prepare detailed appraisal reports that meet AIC guidelines and client requirements.
- Communicate findings clearly to clients, lenders, and other stakeholders.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of agricultural markets, regulations, and valuation methodologies.
- Travel throughout Alberta to inspect properties and meet clients.
Qualifications
- Current Candidate Member or will pursue AACI designation with the Appraisal Institute of Canada.
- Post-secondary education in agriculture, economics, business, or a related field (preferred).
- Strong analytical, research, and report-writing skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel extensively within Alberta.
Preferred Experience
- Previous experience in agricultural appraisal or related valuation work is an asset.
- Familiarity with Alberta’s agricultural industry and rural property markets.
