~ Registrants who cancel within seven (7) days of the event will not be entitled to a refund.
~ Enrolment that does not meet minimums for cost recovery may result in cancellation of the event. In this case, registrants will receive a full refund.
Every effort will be made to handle each case fairly. Members who have registered for an event and are unable to attend will be encouraged to find an alternate AIC-BC Member to assign to their registration, if appropriate.

AIC-BC Webinar – SAVE THE DATE!
The Cowichan Decision and Its Implications for Valuation Practice in British Columbia
Wednesday, March 18, 2026
The Cowichan Decision has sparked widespread discussion across legal, lending, and valuation communities in BC — particularly regarding Aboriginal title and its potential implications for private property rights. With the matter progressing through the courts, uncertainty and alarmist commentary have created questions for real estate professionals.
Join AIC-BC for March’s webinar panel featuring a real estate lawyer, two experienced appraisers, and an industry representative (lender, CMHC, or BC Assessment) as they unpack what the decision says, its status before the Supreme Court, and what it does — and does not — mean for valuation practice.
Designed specifically for AIC-BC Members, this session will provide practical insight, legal clarity, and guidance on navigating client concerns while maintaining professional objectivity and compliance.
Speakers:
John Shevchuk, AACI, Honourary, Lex Pacifica Law Corporation
Cliff Smirl, P.App., AACI, Kent-MacPherson
Dan Jones, P.App., AACI, Campbell & Pound (1939) Ltd.
Additional speaker to be determined.
